LocalMetal.com was started in the Summer of 2005. It's original purpose and goal was to provide content related to bands, venues and other ventures that involved metal music based in the Cincinnati, OH and Northern Kentucky area.

LocalMetal.com encourages all Cincy and NKY metal bands, venues, etc. to use the site to promote themselves such as shows, releases, audio, video, etc.

The site has gone through multiple cosmetic and philosophical changes. Although the site is still interested and supports the Cincinnati and NKY metal bands and scenes, it has broadened itself to include more content related to national bands such as interviews, reviews, release info, etc.
